Im Inneren dieses leichten Geh\u00e4uses \u00fcbertr\u00e4gt ein Satz pr\u00e4zisionsgefertigter Stahlkegelr\u00e4der, Wellen und W\u00e4lzlager die Drehbewegung von einer Antriebsquelle \u2013 typischerweise der Zapfwelle eines Traktors \u2013 auf ein Arbeitsger\u00e4t. Dabei wird das Drehmoment rechtwinklig umgeleitet und, falls erforderlich, die Drehzahl der Abtriebswelle \u00fcber ein definiertes \u00dcbersetzungsverh\u00e4ltnis ver\u00e4ndert.<\/p>\n<p>Im Vergleich zu Geh\u00e4usen aus Gusseisen bietet das Aluminium-Getriebegeh\u00e4use eine um etwa 60\u2013651 t\/cm\u00b3 geringere Dichte. Diese Gewichtsersparnis ist besonders bei Dreipunktaufh\u00e4ngungen von Bedeutung, da diese h\u00e4ufig zwischen den Arbeitsg\u00e4ngen an- und abmontiert werden, sowie bei leichteren Anbauger\u00e4ten, bei denen das Gewicht am Heck des Traktors das Lenkgef\u00fchl und die Traktion der Vorderr\u00e4der beeintr\u00e4chtigt.
