At no load, the motor runs at its highest speed \u2014 around 9000\u201310000 RPM. As rope tension increases and the winch drum slows under load, the motor naturally draws more current to maintain torque. The S2 2min\u20137%ED duty cycle rating defines how long and how frequently the motor can sustain those high-current pulls before it needs a cooling interval. Operating within this rating is the single most important factor in motor longevity for winch applications \u2014 exceeding it produces winding temperatures that degrade insulation and shorten brush life significantly.<\/p>\n
